Our BIG 4th of July plans consisted of SLEEP IN. SLEEP SOME MORE. EAT.
Our original plans were to swim at a beautiful pool we swam at with friends, eat, swim some more, eat some more and watch fireworks. Since those plans fell through, we just cut out the SWIM part. Mike grilled out, we lazed around the house, and then we went to watch fireworks.
We don’t enjoy HUGE crowds, so we find a place out of the way, preferrably by ourselves and watch everyone else blow up their
money fireworks. Usually, we go to a park where the kids can play, and watch the fireworks at the same time.
Warning: this post depicts images of REAL children. These children run, get dirty, tear their pony tails and matching bows out of their hair, and generally misbehave. If you do not wish to view children in their natural habitat, please use the EXIT button of your browser. You have been warned…
This is when ALL watching of the fireworks ended…we had a SWEET storm roll in and the lightning was INCREDIBLE. It was God Himself showing us that we have NOTHIN’ on His mad skills….He may not have used the term “mad skills“…but that was the term Austin used, so I went with it.
And about this time, we remembered where we were, what we were sitting on, and what we were surrounded by….and we made a hasty retreat before the rain started.
Today, was just a selfish post. Nothing to learn from, no profound truth from God, no beautifully posed and photographed children. This was just totally OUR FAMILY today.
